Frequently Asked Questions
Log homes have traditionally been built using contractors or log ‘kits’. Unfortunately, these building methods are outdated and continue to plague the industry due to widespread construction headaches. Here at Blue Ridge Log Cabins Canada, we have revolutionized log home building by constructing 90% of your fully-modular, solid-log home in our state-of-the-art, quality controlled environment. Our highly skilled craftsman, QC superintendents, and our exhaustive inspection process ensure that your home is delivered on site, on time, without the hassle and headache.
It's all about simplicity. With Blue Ridge Log Cabins, there is very little to do in order to finish the home. In fact, most of the construction work is done in our quality-controlled facility to meet our robust standards. Blue Ridge stands behind every home we build - and it's a guarantee that builders across North America have relied on for nearly 30 years.
Unlike most log home ‘kits’, which are far from complete, Blue Ridge Log Cabins include complete interior walls, floors, ceilings, interior door and window trim, baseboards and wall moldings, electrical wiring and panel box, outlet receptacles and covers, water heater, plumbing lines, kitchen appliances including refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, cabinets, countertops, bathroom vanities, sinks, tubs, showers, medicine cabinets, mirrors, towel bars, ceiling fans, interior and exterior light fixtures, hose bibs, interior doors, windows, shingles, exterior eave vents, and roof insulation.
We're able to keep our pricing in line with, or lower than, ordinary construction methods, while meeting the same architectural and build specifications. That's due to the fact that our homes are built entirely indoors in our climate controlled facility.
At Blue Ridge Log Cabins, our building process and strict quality control allows us to offer an industry leading warranty. Our warranty offers your complete home for a full year, and includes a structural warranty for up to a minimum of 10 years.
Our base price includes everything from sub floor to interior trim, appliances and light bulbs. You can learn more about what's included in a Blue Ridge log home by checking out our materials page.
Your Blue Ridge Log Cabin can range anywhere from 500 to 5,000 square feet. Due to the wide variety of options available for customization - from finishes, to configuration - we can't provide a general figure until we know more about your specific needs. However, what we can do is provide you with an exact price of your finished log home. Simply contact us to find out more about the Blue Ridge build process.
During the specification process, you'll choose the location of your porches and decks. We'll include the final construction - which takes place on-site - in your home's price.
We utilize sophisticated computer assisted design in order to assist you with any design or floor plan changes required. Following any modifications, the engineering plans are then reviewed by our team of building supervisors and quality control staff to ensure that all safety and design standards are met. Following final approval by you, we obtain specific provincial code compliance approvals - before beginning construction.
Transportation costs are determined by total mileage, and includes drivers, equipment and all other associated costs involved in getting your dream home to your site.
When you choose Blue Ridge Log Cabins, you can leave your cost over-run worries behind you. That's because we guarantee that the price on your agreement is the final price for your home.
Our team can help you determine an accurate estimate in advance in order to help ensure that these items work with your budget. If they do, we can help you find the right contractor to get the job done right.
Providing your budget to our experienced team allows us to quickly determine whether or not you can bring your dream home to life today, or whether we need to work together to find a way to make it happen at or below budget.
There are several ways to accomplish this. They include, in order of importance: changes to architecture, adjustment of specifications and/or changes to total square footage. There are also site specific factors that impact final pricing. These include the landscape and existing vegetation (such as trees or dense undergrowth) as well as access.
In the unlikely event that you encounter an issue during the build process, you'll be glad you chose Blue Ridge Log Cabins. That's because we offer one friendly, convenient point of contact for all issues related to your home and its construction. Our on-site service team will schedule a call, and they'll work with you to make things right at a time that works best!
